There is no ‘I’ in team

But what happens when your ‘team’ is me, myself and I?

I’m referring to the fact that our immediate family unit consists of me and a 9, soon to be 10, year old.

With all the will in the world, sometimes a curve ball happens! Sprog and I’s weeks are planned and scheduled in advance and I have the awesome support of a local Mum who child minds pre/after school for me.

But children get poorly; and this week, best laid plans have gone out the window. Tonsillitis has come to visit.

Plans get shuffled. I had to let someone, a colleague, down – being a Mum had to come in front of a ‘work commitment’ however wretched this made me feel.

At these times I really miss being a ‘team’!
